Acceptable Forms of ID
North Carolina recognizes the following types of identification as valid if they are current or issued within the last five years:
All identification cards must contain a photo, a physical description, a signature, and a serial number. An international driver's license cannot be accepted as proof of identification. The identity of the signer may also be established by one or two credible witnesses or a subscribing witness.
